Cider, chutney and free roaming chickens at Badgers Hill Farm in Chilham

Just a short distance from Canterbury, past rows of apple orchards and into the lush Kent countryside lies Badgers Hill Farm & Cidery, a wonderful farm shop, tea room, garden centre and animal farm all rolled into one.

A wander around the grounds is a good place to start. Feed the freely roaming chickens and say hello to the donkeys. It’s a great place for kids. My little one loves the interesting statues, sculptures and wind chimes almost as much as the animals and the playground!

After you’ve worked up an appetite, head to the greenhouse to share (you will need to share!) one of the best ploughmans you will ever have! The plate comes overflowing with fresh warm hunks of bread, five or so local chutneys to try, pickles, cheese, salad and crisps.

After you’ve had your fill and chosen your favourite chutney be sure to take a look around the farm shop where you can buy that delicious chutney along with jams, fresh eggs, homemade cakes and cider straight from their own press. The place is a total delight.
